Finding a good fit means looking beyond the badge. Start with how your child wants to play: a social weekly game, extra skills sessions, or a competitive team with regular travel. Ask your child what feels exciting before comparing programs.
Ask each club for the complete seasonal cost in writing. Registration may not include uniforms, tournament fees, travel, facility charges or optional sessions. Confirm cancellation terms and what happens if a session is cancelled.
For players aged 9–15, age labels and birth-year rules can differ by season and competition. Confirm the current eligibility rules with the club. An age tag in a directory is a starting point, not a registration guarantee.
Ask about coaching qualifications, safeguarding policies, background screening, playing time and the adult responsible for questions. Watch a session if the club offers that option. Look for a welcoming environment and clear communication.
Compare travel time, session frequency and your family’s other commitments. A sustainable routine helps a child enjoy the game over a full season. Use our city directory to build a shortlist, then contact each club directly.
